Ashley Madekwe and Ashley Leggat
Madekwe was born into a mixed ethnic family. Her father and mother were both English. She attended The Brit School when she was 14 years old. She received her Bachelor of Arts in acting at The Royal Academy of Dramatic Art. While attending the school, she was a part-time actor in a number of stage productions such as King Henry V playing Princess Katherine and Wuthering Heights portraying Catherine Earnshaw.
Madekwe started her career as an actress through the film Storm Damage. She has appeared as a guest on Teachers Doctors Casualty Drop Dead Gorgeous. Madekwe's debut film appearance was in Woody Allen's 2007 film Cassandra's Dream opposite Colin Farrell, Ewan McGregor. The film's success led her to play Elisha in a single-off BBC Three drama West 10 LDN pilot. Later, she appeared in the six-episode series Trexx & Flipside playing the character of Ollie. The year 2008 saw her landed the part of Bambi on The ITV2 drama series Secret Diary of a Call Girl, appearing in series two and three. Madekwe was a part of the comedy How to Lose Friends and alienate others (2008). Her theatre credits are Little Sweet Thing or Roy Williams as well as Flight Path of David Watson.
Madekwe was cast as Ashley Davenport on ABC's drama The Beautiful Life. The two-episode show aired only for the duration of two weeks The CW and then it ended. Ashley Davenport was her role in the ABC drama Revenge. Madekwe was in the episodes in the series' second season as the show's regular. But in May of 2013, it was announced that word broke that the actress would be departing the show following her guest appearance in the opening episode for its third season. From 2014-2016, Madekwe starred in the role of Tituba on the show Salem. Madekwe and her partner who has been with her for a long time, Iddo Goldenberg, were wed in June of 2012. They have worked together in the show Secret Diary of a Call Girl as well as he was also on the show with Madekwe on the TV show Salem.
Ashley Leggat, an actress nominated twice for a Gemini Award, comes from a large Hamilton family. Her family included both parents Roy and Patty together with four older brothers: Brett, Todd and Bram twins, Rob, and Brett. All of her brothers were athletic, and they played baseball as well as hockey throughout the summer and winter. She grew up in the arenas and baseball. Ashley did not walk, but she did dance, so at age 2 1/2 years old she began Baby Ballet -and she fell in love with. Ashley became passionate about dance after this. Ashley performed in competitive ballet, jazz and tap in the high divisions. She won the top individualist in all the main dance contests, including, International Dance Challenge, Showstoppers 5-6-7-8 Showtime, Flash Dance, and Dance, Dance, Dance just to mention a few.
