Anne Lockhart, born Anne Kathleen Maloney in September 1953, is an American actor from America. Carpenter says that the actress rejected his proposal to be Laurie Strode. Anne does not recall John Carpenter contacting her or suggesting the role. It is possible that her agent rejected the offer on her behalf, without notifying the actress. Glen Larson chose her initially and gave her a preliminary written script. The role she would take was in the television series Battlestar Galactica, which aired in 1978. The actress initially refused the role due to the fact that she thought her character was weak. Glen then wrote her the role with a more powerful character, Sheba. After she read the first 25 pages of script The Living Legend she accepted the part immediately. The series lasted one season.
